This picture of Mike Butler was taken in 1960 from the northwest tip of Gan near to the Officer’s accommodation and looking towards Fedu.  This expanse of beach only became visible when the tide was at its lowest ebb.  The old concrete piers of the causeway, built during World War 2, which connected Gan to Fedu, can be clearly seen.
